David Bowie was always more than a singer to me. He was my inspiration. He taught me that being yourself is unique, and that weird isn’t abnormal – its extraordinary. He took sides of himself and ran with them. Ziggy, The Thin White Duke, Aladdin Sane..these were all versions of himself that he embraced and etched into the final vision of himself.
He was kind, loving, caring and creative. I feel so privileged that he was my first concert ever, my first tap solo was to Bowie, and I’m so thankful for everything he has done for me throughout my life.
This is probably one of my favorite things Bowie has ever said,
“I’m looking for backing for an unauthorized autobiography that I am writing. Hopefully, this will sell in such huge numbers that I will be able to sue myself for an extraordinary amount of money and finance the film version in which I will play everybody.”
It makes me laugh every time. Thank you, David Bowie for helping me grow & forever making me smile.
These photos were done in creative collaboration. Makeup provided by KDB Beauty , Photography by Janélie Mercure Photography , Location provided by 283 Performing Arts Company . A special thank you to my cousin Scott Kvasni for taking the time to do this with us.
I really wanted to show David’s passion for androgyny. I have embodied him in his more masculine photos and Scott has portrayed his feminine side.

I now present to you,
We Are David Bowie.
I will never get to meet him, but for one day.. thanks to some amazing people, I got to be David Bowie.
This is a tribute to a man who always rebelled in the best way possible. Thank you for inspiring my inner rebel, rebel.
