Women Of Niagara
This was a community inspired event and project, creatively collaborated by local businesses that focus on women that live in the Niagara Region.
Allison Kares
Allison is a Welland born and raised Pilates instructor. She was interested in this project to be involved with a great group of women describing it as a rare opportunity. Allison has a determination for success and is not afraid to take a risk. Passionate about helping people, Allison helps people work toward pain free and effective movement.
“I’ve always been interested in movement. I love the science behind movement. I love seeing my clients succeed. It’s so rewarding to have somebody come in whose in pain and doesn’t know how to move in their own body and then come back in and say ‘my whole life is better just because of what I’m doing with you.'”
Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Niagara College Fitness and Health Promotion Program to help with development of education for students in the fitness industry. Allison has a determination to inspire and educate Niagara residents on the importance of health and how to achieve that lifestyle regardless of personal limitations. Her favourite events to attend in the Niagara Region are anything performing arts, the food festival in Welland & Canal Days in Port Colborne. Allison supports local businesses by frequenting different locally owned restaurants.
“Accessibility is really important. I work with an aging population, people with disabilities so it’s super important to make it easier for people to be able to access any place they want to access.”

Beth Kennedy
Beth is a Welland born style consultant. Currently living in St.Catharines Beth’s interest in this project was peaked with the opportunity to meet with different women, learn about different local businesses and to make connections. Personable, compassionate and genuine, Beth has a passion for self expression through passion.
“I like helping people look good. Not for anybody else but for them.”
A volunteer with Niagara Centre for Independent Living, Beth is committed to bettering the residents of Niagara inside and out. Staying true to her Niagara roots she supports local businesses by visiting independently owned restaurants and shops. Beth frequents various outdoor locations in the region, her favourite being Short Hills.
“I love the diversity in Niagara, the trails, outdoors and wildlife. I love to walk so the different areas to explore and things to do, I always discover something new!”

Dina Arsenault
Originally from Dunville, Dina is a Social Media Marketing Manager for small businesses and artists throughout Niagara and Canada. She recently moved back to the region from British Columbia and currently resides in Port Colborne. Dina can talk and relate to anyone and has the ablility to laugh at herself. She is passionate about creativity and has combined her love of film making with her business.
“I want to get back into my film making. My number one passion has always been film making. I definitely want to tap into that a little bit more and maybe try to expand that into my business.”
Dina is on the board for Essential Collective Theatre, is apart of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce and tries to get involved in different activities in the communities. Her favourite events are Canal Days and Art Crawl in Port Colborne and appreciates the natural beauty of Niagara. Dina has shown dedication in her involvement with the region by her commitment to meet and network with local business owners and residents. Women empowerment is important to Dina, she exudes positivity and supports every woman she meets.
“The community aspect is what I love about the Niagara Region. I finally feel like I’m part of a community. I think thats what I was lacking out west, I never really connected. I walk around Port Colborne and go out of my way to get to know the shop owners and get to know the people in the community and I really feel like I’m apart of it.”
